Peter Bronsveld from The Netherlands has been active in the field of PR and communication strategies for NGO’s and global businesses for more than 20 years. Peter’s affinity with the CSR aspects of doing business in Africa is a result of his extensive and on-going involvement as a communications specialist with humanitarian aid, human rights, development projects and governments around the world. Peter is a board member of the Dutch branch of the Human Rights organisation Jubilee Campaign, which was founded by Lord Alton in the UK in 1987. The organisation has a consultative status at the United Nations, which allows the submission of reports directly to the General Assembly and the International Criminal Court in The Hague. In recent years Peters’ focus switched to partnering with governments in the development of economical and social models based on the ‘Aid to Trade’ principle as a viable alternative for humanitarian relief and development aid.
M Ismail Abbasi from London was involved in devising Business and Operational models for UK educational institutions for International Students. Market intelligence in International Student Recruitment provided him the access to market forces in Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America, which attracted a large number of students into British Educational Institutions. He worked as an Independent Business Development Consultant to develop educational institutions on British Standards both in and outside the UK. Ismail has been involved in design, development and implementation of financial models with consultancy in designing system architecture. He is seen as a sector lead in Development of Educational, Commercial and General Portals for FMCGs and General Products etc. Devising Sales and Marketing strategies for Training and educational institutions is also included in his line of work. Ismail is currently providing the CRM Design and Architecture, Business Concept Origination, creating PoCs, Needs Analysis, Feasibility Studies, ROM, SPA, other Contracting, Business and Financial Modeling, Financial Engineering and Business Development on BOOT, BOT, JV, Rev Sharing, Partnerships and inducement models for different nature of companies from limited to LLP and foundations. Ismail is co-founder of ‘Teaching Academy’, an Advanced Hybrid Learning Platform approved by NCFE in the UK. Because of his strong network in the Middle East and his expertise on the Muslim World, Ismail has become an important liaison partner and key advisor for Jubilee Campaign in the consultative role that the organisation fulfils at the United Nations.
Mark Lipdo is a graduate of Building from University of Jos. He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of MAREL Concepts International Limited, a Building Construction firm incorporated in Nigeria with the business of building structures and drilling wells. Mark developed a passion for Community development from his National Service. His work with the Southern Borno hills people of Gwoza led him to mobilising government attention for the local communities and he developed strong stands against the marginalisation of the less privileged in Northern Nigeria. Marks has invested extensively into helping victims of violence, which drew the attention of the international community; a relationship that has attracted a lot of concern for Northern Nigeria. Mark is founder of Stefanos Foundation; a Non-Governmental Organisation working to intervene in the conflict in Northern Nigeria. He shares the leadership of the organisation with five other Nigerian Trustees. Stefanos Foundation is registered with the Nigerian Cooperate Affairs Commission and is working as a Human Rights Advocacy, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction agency. Mark is currently working to liberate the ethnic and religious minority people of Nigeria. His research has recently come up with over 600 ethnic people in 19 Northern States. He hopes that, if properly mobilised, their peaceful coexistence would bring about the socio-economic advancement of Nigeria. Mark Lipdo is married with children. They all live in Nigeria.
Mr. Bert Spenkelink from the Netherlands holds a Master in Economics and Development Studies and has a proven track record in Africa in the field of Private Sector development (SME’s, Incubation, and FMCG etc.), Agri-business, WASH, Renewable Energy, Real Estate development and finances. He has more than 25 years of professional experience as Director and Project Manager in Europe and Africa and has a passion for Africa and its people. He believes in impacting the lives of all Africans growing and expanding small-scale farmers and small agri-businesses across Africa. Bert believes that especially in Africa the agri-business sector and the private sector are the engine to transform lives. This is the way to develop business solutions to poverty, by linking people to information, the value chain, capital and markets.
Stephen I. Emmanuel is a graduate of Philosophy and Region from Pontifical Urban University, Rome. He did his postgraduate studies at Alhamdu Bello University, Zaria where he respectively obtained a degree in Education and Public administration (MPA). Stephen is the founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Vitae Seeds Nigeria Limited, an agro-allied company that is currently one of the market leaders in the production, distribution and marketing of quality agricultural seeds in Nigeria. He founded the company in 2009. Under his leadership, the company has successfully entered and executed several contracts with the Federal Government of Nigeria on the Growth Enhancement Scheme, the West Africa Agricultural Productivity Programme (WAAPP-Nigeria), the World Bank Programme, the International Crops Research Institute for The Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Sasakawa Global 2000, Kano State Government, Katsina State Government and Ebonyi State Government. As a dynamic International Entrepreneur, Stephen I. Emmanuel is inquisitive, forward thinking, and he loves Nigeria.
